Edward J. Pitta has been employed with the Lowell Fire Department
since 1979 and has held positions of Firefighter, Lieutenant,
Captain, Deputy Chief and Chief.
The Chief of the Lowell Fire Department is responsible
for all department operations and deals directly with financial
management, union concerns, employee discipline, and supervision
of fire prevention and emergency response activities. He
also serves as the Department’s
representative for various boards and committees and communicates
directly with the City Administration, City Council, and
other political agencies.
The Mission of the Lowell Fire Department is
to improve the quality of life in the City of Lowell by providing
fire protection, emergency response services, prevention and
public educational activities. Our goal is to protect all citizens,
their property and the environment from natural and manmade disasters.
