It is the objective of the Team to respond to an accident scene quickly enough to facilitate an underwater rescue. They will respond 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Team now has a Dive Rescue Apparatus (the old rescue), which is brought to all water incidents so that the dive teams equipment is on the scene at all times. The team has trained in Cold Water Diving, underwater vehicle extrication, conducting search patterns via a tethered line; night diving and we will be training for Under Ice Diving this February. When men are on duty they will respond to the scene with their apparatus upon the request of the Deputy in charge for the Dive Team and the off-duty men will respond by the activation of their Pagers.
