Tony Sampas was born in 1955 and grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts. Tony has had a life long interest in art, literature, and film. He has studied art at the Pennsylvania Academy in Philadelphia, at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, and at the Decordova Museum School in Lincoln, MA. Tony graduated with a BA in studio art from Guilford College (Society of Friends), Greensboro, North Carolina, in 1978. For over two decades Tony has made his way in the world as a carpenter. He recently attained a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science, Archives Concentration, from Simmons College in Boston. He intends to transition out of the trades and into library work or the publishing field in the not too distant future. Tony also hopes to continue to sketch with words and put a book of his "short short stories "together. Tony continues to research his Greco-American roots, an exploration he began with Lowell’s Hellenic Heritage Association. Tony and his family enjoy traveling and try to spend time in Europe once a year. Tony lives in a little house that he built in the woods of Pepperell Massachusetts with his wife Monique and their two sons Demetri and Sebastian.
