Elenie Kelakos

Eleni Kelakos, who was born in Lowell, began her musical and acting career by performing in variety shows and school musicals as she traveled with her family throughout Europe and the Middle East.  She graduated from Brown University with a double major in theatre and semiotics, and worked in regional theatre in New York and Los Angeles. From her early teens, Eleni wrote songs and played acoustic guitar. When she turned back to the instrument during a difficult time, it led to a new career as a recording artist. She released her first solo CD, I Will Fly, in 1998, and started performing in large and small venues. She released her second CD, To the Bone, in 2000, and followed up with Where I Come From in 2004.

Elenie’s positive and life-affirming music has made her a sought after speaker and performer in healing arts and personal-growth circles. Through her Tallest Poppy Project, she empowers young people, especially pre-teen girls. She advises business executives through her SPEEK program, demonstrating how they can use theatre-based tools to strengthen their presentations.

Her film and TV credits include The Suicide Club, Beverly Hills 90210, and the video release Robots.  She has done voice work on the anime show Dirty Pair, and also the anime film 3x3 Eyes: Legend of the Divine Demon

In Lowell, Eleni has performed at Evos Arts Institute, in the Lowell Summer Music Series at Boarding House Park, and for the Hellenic Culture Society. For more about Eleni Kelakos and her music, visit
