The
Nadiral Ecstasy: Kerouac and Shamanic Decadence
Tom
Bierowski is completing his PhD in English Literature at Lehigh
University. His dissertation focuses on the shamanic implications of Kerouac's
fiction. He teaches Creative Writing, Composition and Poetry during the
school year. (Paints houses and pitches mulch in the summer time.) He
is the proud father of a nine year old boy named Ethan and a member of
the acoustic "lit-rock" project called "Burnt Norton."
He founded the Drown Writers' Series (an open forum for the presentation
of original creative works) on Lehigh's campus in 1998. Last Spring, with
a number of talented friends, he performed his spoken word/multimedia
production called "Talking Book" in the Black Box Theater, Bethlehem,
PA.
