Diana Archibald, Ph.D.
Dr. Archibald Diana C. Archibald is Assistant Professor of English at
the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She earned her Ph.D. in English
Literature from Washington State University. She specializes in the Victorian
novel and has just published her first book, Domesticity, Imperialism,
and Emigration in the Victorian Novel (University of Missouri Press, 2002).
She has recently edited a special issue of Dickens Quarterly on "Dickens
and America" (Sept. 2002) and serves as a trustee for the Dickens
Society. Her latest project is editing her 88 year old grandmother's memoir.
Originally from California, where she completed an MA from the California
State University, Diana now resides in Lowell with her husband and son.
Dr. Archibald teaches both British Literature and Creative Non-Fiction
Writing, and welcomes questions and comments about the ongoing City Lives
Project.
